While many people know of Sedona, Arizona as home of the beautiful Red Rocks or as a hub for the spiritually enlightened, they may not be aware that the city is also home to an active and creative arts scene.

According to VisitSedona.com, hundreds of artists of all mediums and genres reside and show their creations in Sedona, making it a major destination for those who appreciate art in all of its forms.

With more than 40 galleries and an active art gallery association, any type of art may be found in Sedona. The land's history has inspired Native American style art, its ruggedness has lead some to create works that mimic nature and its burgeoning community of intuitives has given way to modern and contemporary forms of art.

On the first Friday of every month, the Sedona Art Gallery Association gives tribute to the city's talented artists with a trolley tour of the galleries.

Author, philosopher and artist Ilchi Lee is just one among Sedona's many talented artists. His calligraphy and art are inspired by a sacred Korean text known as Chun Bu Kyung and are meant to convey unity and interconnectedness as well as inspire world peace.

In an article on GatewayToSedona.com titled Mystical Sedona Known the World Over as New Age Mecca, the spiritual draw to Sedona is explained as a possible result of the stunning beauty of the Red Rocks or the folklore surrounding the area.

The serene Arizona city is now home to people seeking enlightenment and those who may help them, like intuitives, channelers and massage therapists.

Even early settlers of the area recognized its beauty and recognized it as a special place as they reserved some of the majestic canyons for sacred rituals and practices.

"Many attribute Sedona's special draw to the 'vortexes,' specific points of energetic intensity among the Red Rocks that affect every living thing," writes author Sarah Horton.

The Arizona State Park website reports that the Red Rock park is a 286-acre nature preserve and educational center. Trails, meadows, creeks and, of course, the stunning terra cotta-hued cliffs make it a popular destination for tourist and enlightenment-seekers alike.

Sedona, because of its power and beauty, was the place Ilchi Lee chose as he settled in the U.S. to spread his teachings of Brain Education, brain wave vibration and Dahn Yoga to individuals all over the country.

Only then will this journey end, and will your soul end its time as this particular incarnation.

The lake will then become just water again. The nucleus that held the soul together need no longer be maintained, for it has been satisfied. Therefore, the Life Current that coalesced around this nucleus is loosed from the chain that bound it to the soul. Once free, it goes back to its original condition of absolute freedom.

No one knows how long this freedom will last. The time of freedom, from another point of view, could be the time before the Life Current is called forth again to come together around another seed of hope and give shape to another soul about to embark on a new journey. It is getting ready to dream a new dream. Just as our bodies decay and provide material for new life, Life Current is recycled continuously to serve the needs of the soul. This process is happening naturally without waiting for someone to attach a label or meaning to it. Put in human terms, we could call it an act of sacrifice and highest love, for it willingly gives up absolute freedom to help one seed of hope to come to fruition and be realized.

Say you headed east for a long time and have come far. Your trip, your steps so far, are recorded in your brain and reflected in the actual position in which you are standing now. If your choice requires you to completely change your life, change directions, and leave the comfort and security of the path that you have walked so far, it is natural for hesitation and second thoughts to accompany such a decision. However, as you know already, more calculations and deliberation do not make the choice any easier or wiser. Ultimately, the decision is a one-time choice.

The question to ask is simple: What is it you really want? What are the things that fill your heart with hope and joy? Ask your soul and heart this question. There is no guarantee that your choice is the one that corresponds to that original hope that acted as the seed around which your soul was built. However, if you don’t ask your soul, where else would you direct the question? If not to your heart, then where?

Being a police officer is perhaps one of the most stressful jobs around. This is the story of one who was able to find emotional stability despite his difficult and psychologically exhausting job.

I am a cop. My workplace is the police station, where all sorts of conflicts between people happen. The environment is always discordant. When I get tired, my facial expression becomes just like my workplace. And then I feel even worse when I spit out words of frustration with a stern face.

The most stressful moments at my work are when I am misunderstood by people while I am trying to calm them down and make peace. Sometimes they insult me without any reason, which I take personally. Most of the time, I just let it go. But there are moments when I cannot take it anymore. On days like that, I cannot rest well, even after I get off work. All the negativity and the hostile words linger in my head. I guess it is an occupational hazard. I thought I would become seriously ill if I kept going on like that.

Even before I learned Brain Wave Vibration, I started shaking my head left and right after I interrogated people. I think my neck and shoulders were trying to revive them-selves of all that stress and stiffness. One day, a friend of mine introduced me to Brain Wave Vibration at a Dahn Yoga Center, and I could easily follow all the motions, as they were similar to the ones I used to do.
